Iran is proud of its cultural rainbow or diversities of culture across the country, Ramezan Ali Heydari-Khalili said during his visit to different sectors responsible for holding Cinema Verite.
The 14th Iran International Documentary Film Festival “Cinema Verite" with 894 films from different countries is an important documentary fest across Iran and the Middle East region. The international event started work on December 15 and will end today (December 23).
As Heydari-Khalili believes, the coronavirus pandemic led to holding Cinema Verite virtually was an advantage as many from different world countries could watch the event to get familiarized with Iran's capabilities in this field.
Another advantage of holding online events is to give cultural access to the public, the official noted.
Also, the pandemic situation has created an opportunity for increasing the number of spectators who follow the festival's programs virtually.
Cinema Verite is a showcase of the documentary in Iran and in the region as well, Heydari-Khalili stated.
"Cinema Verite festival is recognized as [Iran's] reputable brand."
Due to the pandemic which has killed over 1,720,000 worldwide since its outbreak a year ago, 14th Iran International Documentary Film Festival “Cinema Verite" like many other world events and gatherings is being held virtually.
Many foreign documentarians and cinematographers have held master classes at the festival.
