Born in Tehran, Massoud Bakhshi graduated in agriculture engineering. He later studied filmmaking in Italy and Financement de la culture in France. He worked as a film critic and screenwriter before directing and producing 11 short films and documentaries, and also three documentary series for T.V. His feature documentary film “Tehran Has No More Pomegranates” was selected in more than 120 international festivals, received many prizes, and had a successful theatrical release in US, Canada, Poland, and Iran. Massoud Bakhshi’s first feature fiction film was premiered at Cannes Film Festival in 2012 and nominated for Camera d’or.
