Message of the Chairman of "CINEMA VERITE", Iran International Documentary Film Festival to the global documentary filmmakers about issue of the humanitarian disaster in Gaza Strip
In our era, the obligation and responsibility against the events which happened around the world have been seen in the documentary film more than the other genres.
Since the documentary film is an honest storyteller of telling the truth and express the reality.
The documentary filmmaker who is intertwined with the essence of truth has the responsibility of informing, warning and truth-telling more than anyone else.
The innocence of the Palestinians during humanitarian disaster due to the Israeli blockade is
the cry and agony of humanity as a whole; a cry for all mankind.
It's, "if you are not a believer, at least be a free man."
To be a free man means engagement and acceptance of responsibility.
All the documentary filmmakers and engaged freethinkers understand the suffering
of the shelterless Palestinians against the Israeli blockade and by mirroring it, could continue to offer commitment and beliefs to truth.
I, as the chairman of "CINEMA VERITE, Iran International Documentary Film Festival, would like to invite all national and international documentary filmmakers to share their thoughts and feelings against this horrible humanitarian disaster in Gaza, and to sympathize with all children, women and dwellers of the region; those who have suffered because of this cruel act of the Zionist Regime.
I would like to ask you to get involved and help the cause of making the voice of these 1.5 million- innocent Palestinians in Gaza Strip reach all those international societies who have still remained silent.
